Active Management
Monument believes that the active management of its portfolio investments is critical to the success of MCP. Consequently, it maintains close dialogue with the management of each of the portfolio companies through regular formal and informal meetings and strong industry participation. Monument attempts to develop close working relationships with portfolio company management as a value-added advisor and seeks positions on the Board of Directors of the portfolio companies.
Monument believes its high level of involvement results in early recognition of opportunities which will in turn increase returns on successful investments. Moreover, Monument’s individual investment agreements include contractual rights that permit MCP to take an active role in deciding when and how to exit an investment.
