Mr. Schaffer has been with Monument since it was founded. Mr. Schaffer has been active in the sourcing, negotiation, underwriting, closing, management and disposition of MCP1 and MCP2 investments while executing management and leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations.

Prior to joining Monument, Mr. Schaffer was an Assistant Vice President with First Chicago Capital Markets ("FCCM") where he was responsible for the Loan Syndication Department in the Indianapolis office, serving the states of Indiana, Kentucky and southwest Ohio. During this time, Mr. Schaffer was successful in placing over $1 billion in debt financing for companies in connection with working capital recapitalizations, leveraged finance and capital acquisition needs in a number of industries, including heavy and light manufacturing, health care, public finance and service and distribution. In addition, Mr. Schaffer participated in mergers and acquisitions of bank and non-bank customers. While at FCCM, Mr. Schaffer was also active in private placement financing, tax-exempt financing, derivative instruments and other placement activities.

Mr. Schaffer serves on the board of Foam Rubber Products, LLC, Felins USA, Inc., Instrument Development Corporation, Inc. and Separators, Inc., portfolio companies of MCP2. Additionally, Mr. Schaffer had served on the board of a private company that engages in the production of aftermarket plastic automotive parts. Mr. Schaffer has been active in all portfolio companies of MCP1 and MCP2. Mr. Schaffer has held NASD Series 7, 24, and 63 securities licenses and has an MBA from Indiana University.
